Ice Barn Summer Camp
Ice Barn Summer Camp is pleased to announce Kirill Chaika, Justin Whited, Michael Bozoian, and Dakota Eveland as this summer's on-ice camp coaching staff. The curriculum for the summer camp will focus on the key components of the game and will include various fun ways for the kids to compete in different settings. The game's key components will include stickhandling, passing, shooting, skating, and goal-scoring theory. The competitive portion of the camp will involve small-area games (including bandy) and full-ice 3v3. We're excited for you to join our camp, as those who join will see an improvement and be ready to go at the start of the upcoming hockey season.

Kirill Chaika
Hockey Player & Coach
Playing Career
Kiril Chaika is a Belarusian defenseman known for his strong presence on the ice, leadership abilities, and experience competing at both the junior and professional levels. His career has taken him across multiple leagues, showcasing his adaptability and commitment to the game.
Chaika began his junior career with MHK Yunost Minsk in the MHL, a top-tier junior league in Russia, before earning a spot on Belarus’s U-18 team for the WJC-18 Division 1A tournament. In the following seasons, he continued to develop his defensive game with MHK Dynamo St. Petersburg and Kapitan Stupino in the MHL, returning to MHK Yunost Minsk for the 2015–16 season.
In 2016, Chaika was drafted 99th overall by the Moncton Wildcats in the QMJHL Entry Draft, highlighting his potential at the major junior level. Instead of heading to North America at that time, he remained in Belarus, competing with the Belarus U-20 team and earning a gold medal at the 2017 U20 WJC (D1A), marking a key milestone in his international career.
After transitioning into the professional ranks, Chaika spent time with Shakhtyor Soligorsk in Belarus before taking his talents to HK Saryarka in Kazakhstan during the 2020–21 season. In 2021, he made his move to North America, joining the Indy Fuel (ECHL), where he became a reliable presence on the blue line, competing in the ECHL for multiple seasons from 2021 to 2024.
Throughout his career, Chaika has demonstrated resilience and adaptability, successfully playing in various leagues across Europe and North America while representing Belarus at the international level.

Justin Whited
Hockey Coach & Player Development Specialist
Justin Whited is a dedicated and passionate hockey coach with experience across multiple competitive levels. He has coached for IE teams, Jr. Fuel AAA, and most recently led the Jr. Fuel 12U Gold team, where he continues to shape the next generation of hockey players.
With a strong focus on player development, Justin has spent the past four years studying the fundamental components of building elite athletes—emphasizing strength and conditioning, hockey skills development, sports nutrition, and the mental aspects of the game. His comprehensive approach ensures that players not only refine their technical skills but also develop the discipline, resilience, and work ethic necessary to succeed at the highest levels.
Justin’s coaching philosophy revolves around creating well-rounded athletes, helping them build strength, speed, and skill while fostering a competitive mindset that extends beyond the rink. His dedication to continuous learning and applying the latest training methodologies enables him to maximize each player’s potential, ensuring they are physically, mentally, and technically prepared to compete at elite levels.
As he continues to evolve as a coach and mentor, Justin remains committed to developing top-tier hockey talent, instilling confidence, discipline, and a love for the game in every player he works with.
Michael Bozoian
Hockey Coach & Skating Development Specialist
Mike Bozoian is a seasoned hockey coach and elite skating instructor with decades of experience playing and developing players at various levels of the game. A Detroit native, Mike grew up playing youth hockey for powerhouse Little Caesars and Compuware Ambassadors AAA programs, laying the foundation for a successful playing and coaching career.
Playing Career
Mike’s journey through competitive hockey saw him excel at multiple levels:
- Junior A Hockey (1996-1999): Played three seasons in the NAHL for the Compuware Ambassadors and Soo Indians, earning consecutive All-Star selections and winning the fastest skater competition in his final year.
- NCAA Division I Hockey (1999-2002): Competed at Niagara University, helping the team reach the National Tournament, where they upset the University of New Hampshire before falling to eventual champion North Dakota. Named alternate captain before his junior year.
- Professional Hockey (2002-2006): Played professionally in Germany (Bundesliga), CHL (Indianapolis), and ECHL (Cincinnati & Dayton) before transitioning into coaching and instruction.
Coaching & Instruction
Mike’s passion for player development has been a cornerstone of his career. He began instructing young players at 16 years old, working at some of the most respected hockey schools, including:
- Suburban Hockey Schools (Novi, MI): Hired by Tom Anastos and Lyle Phair as a skating instructor, eventually becoming a head instructor responsible for training other coaches and leading camps.
- Thunderbird Hockey Schools: Worked under Mike Kesler, father of former NHL player Ryan Kesler.
- LaFontaine & Weidenbach Hockey Schools: Contributed to player development at both schools over an 8-year span.
Coaching Experience
- Carmel Icehounds (2007-2013): Served as an Assistant Coach for four years before taking over as Head Coach, leading the team to the 2013 5A State Championship.
- IYHA (2021-Present):
- Assistant and Head Coach for various teams in the Indiana Youth Hockey Association (IYHA).
- Skills instructor, focusing on skating technique and player development.
Strength & Athletic Training
Mike’s passion for athletic development led him to establish a training facility:
- Purchased gym equipment from the estate of his late friend, Frank Engle, and initially set up the gym in the Arctic Zone Athletic Training Facility (Westfield, IN).
- After the Arctic Zone closed, he relocated the gym to PrimeLife Enrichment Center (Carmel, IN).
- The facility is managed by Justin Whited, focusing on youth hockey players' power, speed, coordination, and agility.
With a wealth of experience in elite player development, coaching, and athletic training, Mike continues to shape the next generation of hockey players with a focus on skating efficiency, power, and overall skill mastery.
Dakota Eveland
Hockey Coach & Skills Development Specialist
Dakota Eveland is a highly respected hockey coach and elite skills instructor with a decade of experience developing players across multiple levels of the game. Originally from Anaheim, CA, Dakota has coached extensively over the past ten years, working with athletes in AAA, USHL, BCHL, NCAA Division I, AHL, Swedish Elite League, KHL, and the NHL.
Renowned for his expertise in stick-handling, shooting, and skating development, Dakota combines his deep understanding of biomechanics, analytics, video review, and game analysis to refine players' technical abilities and overall performance. His coaching philosophy emphasizes precision, efficiency, and innovation, helping players maximize their potential on the ice.
Before transitioning into coaching, Dakota had an accomplished playing career. He competed at an elite level in the USHL with the Omaha Lancers and at the NCAA Division I level with the Colorado College Tigers. Additionally, he represented Team USA, earning medals in both roller and ice hockey on the international stage.
Now part of Ice Barn, Dakota continues to mentor and develop players, providing world-class instruction to those striving for success at the highest levels of the sport
ICE BARN SUMMER CAMP 2025
Ice Barn's Summer Camp returns for 2025. Camp runs from Monday, June 3rd, through Thursday, July 31st.
NO camp dates: July 1st - 4th.
The summer camp will include a 24-hours of on-ice training: skating, puck handling, shooting instruction and drills, combined with small-area and 3V3 games on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays.
